If you want to work for Hot Rod Magazine, and live near El Segundo, you need to apply quickly

They need more gearheads on screen and off to help the hosts.

It doesn't matter if you're a man or woman, they've got plenty of both working at Hot Rod (Elena for example).

What they’re looking for is a person with in-depth tech knowledge about cars and trucks, that lives in or near El Segundo California. The best candidate will have worked with a broad variety of cars, mostly 1920's to 1971.

The greater your driving skills the better, as they track test many cars on the show, and if the camera loves you, (think of the hosts of many car shows, the good looking people that never are at a loss for words) you might get camera time.

This position would be handled on a freelance basis at first, working toward being hired as a fulltime employee of TEN: The Enthusiast Network. You need to understand, this isn't a great paycheck, just a great job with incredible co-workers. (Thom Taylor is a multiple hall of famer, and former professor at the Art Center College of Design, and the editor of Hot Rod)

It’s a foot in the door, and you need to be passionate about it to win.

So how do you apply? Video. Hand someone your cell phone and have them make a 1-2-minute video of you telling about yourself in 30-seconds, and explaining something about a car, or even doing a short how-to or tech tip.

If you want to record with better production quality than just a cell-phone video, go for it—but it’s personality they are looking for.

To apply, create your video, host it on your YouTube channel, and post a comment on the video on the Motor Trend channel of YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-JksHRTXqSY

The audience will whittle down to one or two final winners.
