There was an AMC dealership in Houston that put P38 decals on Gremlins and Hornets between 1971-76, to honor a local WW2 hero



There was nothing special about the cars, most were 304 stick shift, but the decal was the only special thing about them


To honor the first WW2 ace pilot from Houston, and 1st P38 ace pilot, Jack Ilfrey. His plane was named the "Texas Terror"
